A letter from our President
The Louisville Constitution Day Committee came to a heart-wrenching decision on May 27th, 2020. We waited as long as we could before making our decision, but our 2020 Constitution week events will not be held this year. We, as a committee, came to the joint conclusion with everything that has been going on, it was in the best interest of everyone involved. One of the things that helps the most during our festivities is the funds that are raised and donated during the year. During these times, we do not feel it is right to be asking for donations or taking donated funds. With that being said, the other things that contribute to our decision is still being unsure of how Covid-19 will play out this September and social distancing guidelines. With most of all of our events are inside and include mass gatherings, social distancing would be an issue. We want everyone to be able to stay healthy and are concerned for everyone that would be involved in all the activities.
These canceled events go down as one of the first times; all of our September Constitution Day events have been put off due to uncertainty. With that being said, I hope everyone understands we did this out of caution and respect for everyone. While our events may be canceled for this year, that does not mean you cannot celebrate the Constitution during the week of September 13th through the 19th, and not just then, we should celebrate our freedoms every day. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page and here for any possible future announcements we may have to contribute to celebrating Constitution Week during September 13th-19th.
Thank you, everyone, for your time and your patience with us through these times. We hope that you will be able to join us all again in September of 2021.
Daniel J. Wilcox
President
